International Shrine
On 11th February 2004 Vatican declared Kurisumudy as an International Shrine of St. Thomas. International shrine officially inaugurated by Archbishop Pedro Lopez Kindwana, Apostolic Nuncio in India on 13 th February 2005.

Kurisumudy
Malayattoor Kurisumudy is famous in the world level because this place visited by St. Thomas apostolate of Jesus Christ. This mountain’s height is 1269 ft. at sea level. Many pilgrims climb this mountain and feel their hearts Jesus love. All they are praying “muthappo ponmalakettam” and others pray the rosary, way of the cross. Pilgrims are caring for heavy cross
An old chapel situated on the top of kurisumudy. Elephant struck this chapel in the ancient year. That time thick forest around this area. A lot of wild animals are around freely. In that time elephant attack the backside of the chapel wall.
Marthoma mandapam is built as Indian archaeological traditions. St. Thomas statue placed in this building. Above this mandapam twenty steps, symbolically representing the twenty years of St. Thomas's missionary works in South India.
A Chapel is in this hilltop that’s named Sannidhi. Thousands of pilgrims participated in meditation and Holy Eucharist in this place.
Many years back St. Thomas visit this mountain and he knelt on the rock for praying and signed cross with the finger on the rock. In later appeared a golden cross on this spot.
A miracle well is on this hilltop. St. Thomas struck the rock when he was thirst and water gushed out.
Another miracle is St.Thomas footprint on the rock. Now it is covered a glass cover.
